As some may have noted, it has been a while since we have updated our blog. We apologize for that, but some other matters have been a little more pressing at Pure Offroad. After some time we realized that if we truly wanted to grow we needed to change ecommerce platforms. So after much deliberation and tactical planning to minimize any negative impact on SEO; we finally made the switch just before Christmas of 2008. The migration from the old system into the new is finally complete. We can already see improvements and look forward to utilizing many tools included in our new ecommerce package. Most of the improvements are primarily administrative, however site usability has improved as we are now able to customize a little easier. We have also noticed the new site has faster response times when searching which makes it all the better for those of us who are used to high speeds and impatient with slow loading pages. Keep checking back as we continue to fine tune and improve the Pureoffroad.com website.

Motosport Alloys (MSA) have recently added a few new styles of ATV wheels to their already stunning line of ATV accessories.  The M10 Reaper wheels are one of the new styles.  The Reaper is available in a flat black finish accented with a metallic red stripe along the lip edge to further set your ATV apart from all other quads. The M10 Reaper is available in both 12″ & 14″sizes to help you customize your ATV or UTV the way you want.  When you purchase this brand new ATV wheel you will also receive lug nuts and MSA’s signature MotoStar chrome center cap.  To sum it up, The M10 Reaper is an awesome new release and in our opinion will become a very popular ATV wheel that will stay on the market for years to come.  Its simple yet very unique.  No other ATV wheels by any other brand compare with the Reaper’s stellar design.  The Reaper wheels would make a drastic improvement on the appearance of any ATV or UTV. These excellent ATV rims are available for purchase on our website. 14″ NOW IN STOCK READY TO SHIP! MSA ATV Wheels

What size ATV tire do I need?

Of course the best way to determine what size ATV tire you need is to check your machine. Generally the size of the ATV tire you have is imprinted on the sidewall of the tire right around the edge of your wheel. Pure Offroad has tried to make things a little easier for you by listing the common sized atv tires that come with the various brands of ATVs on the market. Just check the ATV Tire SIzing Guide for help. Of course we can’t guarantee the sizes listed will be what you have, it should give you a good starting point. Many people will replace their OEM atv tires and wheels so if you have purchased a used ATV or have replaced your ATV wheels yourself, you’ll want to double check the sizing that you have to assure a proper fit. Should you have any questions, please contact us!

GBC Dirt Commander Atv Tires

The third of the four newly released atv tires by GBC (Greenball Corporation) is the Dirt Commander.  The Dirt Commander is one of the few 8 ply atv tires available on the market.  Many people have compared the Dirt Commander to the Terra Cross tires by Itp.  If you compare the two the tread pattern is quite similar, both tires feature a wrap-around shoulder lug, although Gbc’s tire is an 8 ply while the Terra Cross is only a 6 ply.  The Terra Cross is also a radial tire where as the Dirt Commander is a bias-ply.   The Dirt Commander is described by Gbc as follows: “GBC Motorsports Performance ATV tires are built to get you over tough terrains to your destination. Dirt Commander, GBC’s new all terrain tire, is a super tough 8-ply rated bias tire that gives you excellent puncture resistance. Its siped tread design also gives additional biting edges for better traction in all terrains.”  We believe the Dirt Commander will become one of our best selling atv tires.  If you’re looking for a tough tire built for any type of terrain, the Dirt Commander is an excellent choice.  To make a purchase or for more info click here.

GBC Spartacus Atv Tires

The second of the four newly released tires by GBC (Greenball Corporation) is the Spartacus. The Spartacus atv tires are one of the few 8 ply radial atv tires on the market. As described by GBC, “The Spartacus is a new performance ATV tire specifically designed to conquer mud and other tough terrains. You can be confident because Spartacus’ aggressive tread design delivers superior traction while the radial 8-ply rated carcass construction puts more rubber on the ground for a larger footprint and a smoother, more comfortable ride.” GBC has stepped up their game with the release of these new atv tires. We look forward to putting these tires to the test and see how they perform through a variety of terrains. With the reputation GBC has already established for themselves, we have pretty high expectations for these new atv tires. We now carry the Spartacus tires on our website.  To make a purchase or for more information on the Spartacus Atv Tires click here!

GBC Afterburn Atv Tires

GBC (Greenball Corporation) has recently released 4 new styles of atv tires to the market.  The “Afterburn” tire is one of the new styles recently added to GBC’s line of quality atv tires.  As described by GBC, “The Afterburn is a new high performance radial ATV tire that delivers uncompromised traction in both mixed and hard packed terrains. With its unique and aggressive tread design, Afterburn promotes superior straight line and high speed cornering capabilities, and its radial carcass construction provides an optimum smooth ride.” GBC has established a name for themselves over the years by producing some of the toughest atv tires on the market.  The dirt tamer, dirt devil and gator atv tires are a few of their best selling tires.  With the release of these 4 additional tires we predict GBC to continue climbing to the top and rated as one of the best, most reliable manufacturer of atv tires out there.  The GBC Afterburn tires are NOW AVAILABLE for purchase on our site! 4th of July Ride

A few of my buddies and I have always wanted to climb to the peak of a mountain known as Dinosaur in Smoot, WY.  We’ve talked about doing it since we were teenagers, in fact we tried a few times and never made it.  As far as we know its has never been done before on a motorbike.  On the 4th of July weekend my friend and I decided it was time we made it, no matter what.  By the time we got to the peak we realized why it has probably never been done.  We basically had to push our bikes to the summit.  Not much of a ride, more like a hike with a 230lb pack you have to push.  There is no trail whatsoever, just large sharp rocks and a bunch of deadfall.  Although it was difficult, it was very rewarding when we finally made it to the top and cracked open a mt dew to celebrate!  It could probably be done by anyone who is any good at riding a bike, but they need to really want to get up there and have a lot of energy/motivation.  On the way back we dropped off the ridge too soon and we got stuck in a canyon with only one way out, by crossing a large river that was very swift.  There is no way we could have crossed the river (I know this because I tried last year on my 450 and it sunk and nearly got flushed away) so we left our bikes and walked all the way out of the canyon to the nearest house and got some help.  We ended up carrying a boat to the river and floated our bikes across so we could get home.  Heres a few pics from the ride.
